About the Trust

Ambojeshwara Development Society

Founded after the 2014 rediscovery of the Veeranjaneya temple, the trust quietly tends the temples, the goshala and the daily Anna Dasoha on Ambajidurga hill.

When Sri Narayana Swamy of Kavaluganahalli found the lost Sri Dustasamhara Veeranjaneya Swamy in 2014, he established a trust — the Ambojeshwara Development Society — to care for the hill and its shrines.

With the money from selling his own land and with the help of devotees, a road was cut up the hill so even cars can climb. The Veeranjaneya temple, which had only a sanctum, was renovated and extended. An Anna Dasoha kotadi was raised beside it, and daily meals are now offered to every devotee who comes.

A goshala stands next to the temple. More than 40 cows and 10 horses live there; they graze across the hill through the day and return on their own by 4 pm. A borewell has been drilled so the hill never runs short of water. Work is planned for a tower from Upparpete village to make the climb easier for walking pilgrims.

Sri Dustasamhara Veeranjaneya Swamy Seva Trustworks alongside the Society. Both stand together for the upkeep of the temples, the Pratishtha of Goddess Durga, and the daily service of the devotees of Ambajidurga.
