Free jeep from Maha Kailasagiri
A free jeep service runs the 3 km between Maha Kailasagiri and the Sri Dustasamhara Veeranjaneya Swamy temple so that devotees coming to the hill daily face no inconvenience. The renovated hill road allows cars and two-wheelers to reach the temple directly.
The old cattle path
To reach the summit on foot, one can cross the fields from Konapalli or Upparpete and climb the thorny path long used by the cattle herders. The walk from the base to the top of the fort takes about two-and-a-half to three hours. A walking tower from Upparpete village is planned to make this climb easier.
Entry to the hill is strictly prohibited after 5:30 PM
For the safety of devotees and the protection of the hill, no one is permitted to enter Ambajidurga after 5:30 pm. Please plan your darshan and travel accordingly.
